The ScubaCam is an all-inclusive system with everything you need to start recording high quality video while you dive. The system features a bullet camera encased in a custom built watertight housing that is small enough to be mounted to the user`s wrist or face mask. There is a 3ft (1 meter) cable running from the camera to a canister that houses the recording device and battery. The system records video at DVD quality (720x480 at 30fps), and stores the video digitally on SD memory cards, allowing easy access through a TV or computer. It can record for approximately 2.5 hours on the included 4 gig SD memory card. The recorder also features a 3 inch LCD monitor for viewing the video without needing a separate media device. This system has been tested to depths in excess of 200ft (70 meters), with no failures of any kind. The feature that sets this system above all other underwater video systems on the market is the ease of use. The user does not need to hold anything, or worry about operating any feature while on their dive. It allows the diver to focus on their dive, and not the camera system. They can simply watch the video at a later time. The most common statement from users of this system is: `I didn`t even notice it was there...`.
The video recorder`s canister measures approximately 6 inches long by 4 inches in diameter (15cmx10cm), making it small enough to clip on any number of BCD clips or weight belts. The camera housing measures approximately 3.5 inches long by 1.5 inches in diameter (9cmx4cm).
